i don't know... Why is demeter kind of... argh...
In some way i am glad that zeus acts like that right know...
But somehow i miss hades doing that to demeter...
I loved hades and demeter together...
Then she disappeared and everything in my head went crazy.
Now zeus turns out as a hero once again and yeah... i am probably just confused because of that. I'm just afraid demeter loves/ likes Zeus more than Hades

i think that the backstory of the my seasons is interesting, because we got to see everyone's true personalities, it's all well when it ends well, but...i feel like..it's out of character...
i apologize, i think the art, the story, everything about this is great, but isn't Zeus supposed to be like "jackass" as shown in my seasons, and the actions in My promise resulted in him being a "jackass"? Why making Zeus the hero of the day, when he obviously has flaws, he is great king, i see everyone relies on him in Zelda's comic, i see that he is good ruler, but not so good of a person. Like, yes, he has good heart but he is confused and that's about the omake that bothers me. Why making Zeus the good hero of the day, when he is supposed to be not, he is supposed, in my opinion, do not judge me, to never regret his decisions, even if they are....bad. So in my point of view, the comic is greatly drawn, the characters are well developed, all of them, except for few moments that didn't quite fit the characters you've built and grew to love with your comic. But who knows, maybe the change in Zeus is good! I still am looking forward to see Will so we can finally see all of the aspects of Zeus' personality, and decide for ourselves about Zeus -but for now i think he is good, wise king, has not good personal life (wifey, bro love, etc.), but is a good father as seen him act toward his children. For me he might have a good heart, but i don't see him as the hero. Hades is hero-ish, flawlessly good chaacter, which everybody loves, but Zeus' character is what made me fell in love with the comic, because the character is complex, he is bad and he is good, and Zelda portrays every aspect of him WONDEFRUL, every except MAYBE for this one, but as i said, we are gonna wait and see what Zeus is in general in Myth:Will ( i think that was its name)

Is Zelda somehow trying to save Zeus image?
I don't know... is this omake just for fun as Zelda said or should we take it seriously to connect the stories and characters?

GUYS zeus, as much of a jerk as he is, is her brother, and we saw before this, he felt guilt and sadness, and gave up something too. Cut him some slack, Demeter loved Hades so much. But she feels loss over her child and Zeus has some feeling of guilt and remorse. He's not the God, he mistakes and feels guilt over them.

yeah but he is acting ooc. I know i know he is deep down a good, hurt person, but i thought initially that his badness was a way of shutting down people, like to get them away from him. and now again he is mister goody.
Hades, of course is as usual, perfect, but hell, zeus is FAR more complex than him, and with this it appears that he is the same goody hero, which is always acting out of kindness. But it's just thoughts tho, if zelda wants to take a different turn on Zeus' personality, that's okay, but for me this page proves that he is far more simple than expected and that makes me kinda dissapointed, but...I love this comic, i cannot lie, the characters are great, the story arc EVEN MORE JFC THIS WOMAN IS GODDESS OF MANGA ITS GORGEOUSLY WRITTEN AND DRAWN AND....*turns off creep mode*
but as i try to review this story, for myself, i find that i liked Zeus before he became the good guy of the year, i liked this complexity the character had - yes he was kinda asshole, but he was also a good guy, hurt because of his brothers betrayal, doing the same thing to hades, that he has done to him in the past, in the end of promise we see that the nice, kind part of zeus is still there, he is acting towards hades that way because, as explained there *SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS DONT READ EM OR GO TO MANGAMAGAZINE AND READ HER COMIC TILL THE END SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!* the hatred made him good kind, the hatred towards Hades. but as we see him here, i just hink it's kinda ooc. But yet again, if this is the real zeus, if this is what happened, if this is as Zelda did think of him, if it's her way of making him, then i will respect the character, accept him, because thought all the things i said zeus is STILL VERY GOOD OF A CHARACTER! Zelda's talent is great, but only this small detail made me wonder.

Why is everyone taking this comic so seriously??? Zelda doesn't put much thought into this story and writes and draws as she goes along. Hence the name "Irresponsible." There's bound to be some character flaws and plot holes, but it's just a fun little background story for everyone to enjoy. Does there really need to be a debate over it?

I love how you've made Zeus a not so bad guy, it's refreshing C: Your comics give me so many feels.

no, really i do not mind the comic, nor the changes, I say if this is the real background story, as fan-service it is quite great, but as a writing twist not so good, because my opinion is Zeus is quite more complex without this background that gets him innocent, we already have one perfect, not flawed character as Hades, for me, Zeus is much more interesting, because of that character development, because of his 'evilness', this makes him real, Promise makes his reasons for My seasons, because that way we understand Zeus better, unlike the perfect Hades, who for me is quite less interesting. BUT IT IS MY OPINION. Please, don't hate me i am just stating my point of view. other than that slight problem it is well drawn, good developed story, it is great, but i feel that this twist is working more for fangirls, rather than for the story itself. As MsKC said above, if this is only a irresopnsible story, which is omake, and may or may not be true, then it's good, if it's just irresponsible, but if it is official backstory it just, as a reader and a huge fan of Zelda's wonderful works, my opinion as a, i hope so future critic, is that it isn't good plot device. It doesn't work for me. For you fangirls, you have Hades, the perfect one, who, for me is much more boring because of his perfectness, while Zeus is well shaped. and those pages nuclear the image of a person.
Still, Will began uploading and i guess until the end of the month we would know very much of Zeus' personality, and probably would understand that, if it stays official, but for me, this plot twist is not from the best, but it doesn't get in the way of the whole story very much, since the both brothers still think the other hates them.

can you talk a little bit more about artemis?you draw her LOVELY!

Reply MYth Maniac (Guest), January 15th, 2014, 4:28 pm

Oh :3 After re-reading this all together, I think I understand why Zeus is embracing Demeter even after doing what he did; he empathizes with her. In "A Promise" Zeus lost the ability to truly love because of Gaia, resulting in a constant lust to fill that void. Demeter sacrificed the ability to love in order to ensure that Persephone would not have to "die," solidifying such influence because Zeus, as King of the gods, could protect her from such things.
Because both can no longer "love" in that sense anymore, he understands her pain.

I love it <3 <3 XD
