Yes, I now; but his action -although unjustified- has an explanation: in Greek Mythology, Cronus re-imprisoned the Hecatonchires, the Gigantes, and the Cyclopes and set the dragon Campe to guard them because he believed they were a threat for his kingdom. Cronus imagined if contain them in Tartarus, he will regin the world with his sister Rhea as his wife. The period in which Cronus ruled was called the Golden Age, as the people of the time had no need for laws or rules; everyone did the right thing, and immorality was absent. However, this period abruptly fiinshed when Cronus Cronus learned from Gaia and Uranus that he was destined to be overcome by his own sons too, just as he had overthrown his father. The current paranoy of Cronus and the kidnapp of Eos and Nike, in MYth, is consequence of this prophecy, and just now is manipulating Hades for eliminate Zeus: for the prophecy dont' fulfilling this objective.

In this moment, Zeus try to negotiate with the Cyclops because Gaia advise him to do. He must gains their connfidence for the Cyclops forges the weapon to defeat Cronus: the power of lightning. If he don't do this, Zeus will never win Cronus, even with the help of Metis, Nike or Eos.
