Nooo, Zeus, don't let Gaia corrupt you! T_T

Reply Haleth (Guest), June 26th, 2012, 1:10 pm

And the prize for creepiest character ever is for ... Gaia!

Reply Yayya (Guest), June 26th, 2012, 2:01 pm

Gaia seriously creeps me out. First, she was bored, second she did those crazy visions, third she made him to promise to free her children and now she rapes him! I can't understand this woman!

Reply O_O (Guest), June 26th, 2012, 2:54 pm

wowkay, that's really disturbing.

at least we know how he got to be such a player jack ass

Reply ilovecandy (Guest), June 26th, 2012, 3:53 pm

...I'm not sure what that hand is touching, and I don't want to know.

Reply Audrey (Guest), June 26th, 2012, 4:23 pm

You guys forget that this is greek mythology....this was normal for them so just keep reading myth and take it for what it is. If you guys think its so disturbing then don't read it as Zelda did warn us all about the nature of the content.

Reply Filipe (Guest), June 26th, 2012, 7:01 pm

Reply nanase12 (Guest), June 28th, 2012, 12:49 am

Dang Gaia, what a b*tch move. No wonder Zeus grows up to be the pheromone bomb he is.

Reply Hokova, June 28th, 2012, 10:18 am

Gaia doesn´t get love does she?

Reply ilovecandy (Guest), June 28th, 2012, 12:25 pm

Wait, I don't think that's a hand at all...

Well, there goes my plans for showing this comic to my future children.

Reply _Ashen_, June 28th, 2012, 8:00 pm

I get the feeling this is Gaia carrying out her earlier threat to Metis... just saying...

Reply Sage (Guest), June 28th, 2012, 9:44 pm

I agree with Audrey, this is normal Greek myth stuff, but I understand how some people will be disturbed by this. Remember, Gaia wasn't your adorable, cookie making grandma. She told her own son to kill his father, then Zeus. And after Kronos was defeated, she birthed the giants that almost deystroyed Mount Olympus.

Reply Mouse (Guest), June 28th, 2012, 10:19 pm

Does Gaia die. Cus I'm really not liking her right now.

Reply Lune (Guest), June 29th, 2012, 10:14 am

...Okay than. Gaia likes to touch little boys. Good to know.

Reply Person (Guest), June 29th, 2012, 11:49 am

Responding Sage and Audrey's comments, I'm pretty sure most of us by now understand that incest and the like aren't weird for Greek Myths. It would be hard not to know that if you've read previous comments at all, we've had enough debates and lectures to get a pretty good lesson in mythology.

(and if you don't read the comments, then you don't even care what I'm typing, am I right?)

Despite how the Ancient Greek's felt about this subject, however, modern culture is quite a bit different. I think most people are simply displaying their shock because that is the appropriate response in society. What sort of weirdos would we be if we weren't shocked and even a little horrified? Even though that's our reaction to this page, however, I'm sure that most of us still understand the difference between Ancient Greek Myth Morals and today's morals.

And I speak for myself on this, I still love Zelda's MYth. It's as fantastic as always! :)

BAD TOUCH! BAD TOUCH!

....I didn't think she could creep me out anymore...I stand corrected.

Poor Zeus, it's just one thing after another, first kiss your dad, now get felt up by Granny.

Reply Guest, June 30th, 2012, 8:02 am

Haha... if Gaia were to die, everyone else would as well. She's the freaking Earth we live on.

No, you're not supposed to like her. The gods were originally made to be feared and worshiped. That's why they went around killing people for minor transgressions and starting wars and all that.

It's only in modern representations as a form of entertainment that the gods seem nicer and more mellow. To be honest, I'm very glad Zelda is sticking so closely to the original myths.

... Zeus' grandmother is fondling him...

Gaia I think now we know how Kronos got messed up and why he has a lot of mood isues :P
I realy love Gaia she is awesome!!

Reply MythManiac (Guest), July 2nd, 2012, 2:14 pm

Duuuuude I think Gaia just cursed him into not being able to love...that explains his atitude towards everyother god on Olympus. Of course he wouldn't feel guilt for doing the things he did to Hades. Not to mention this could also be Gaia's way of punishing Metis too. Regardless of how messed-up this whole moment is, you just have to think of it a a pretty interesting plot twist.

Reply Mukkura (Guest), July 2nd, 2012, 6:11 pm

I usually don't read the comments, but this time I did because I wanted to read more of the comic, didn't find more but wanted to read more about it so I figured why not read the comments? I feel a little weird reading them though. A lot of you guys are saying that you don't like Gaia and that she's creepy and all that, but I really don't think she's that bad. I actually agree with some people that this may be Gaia's way of punishing Metis.
I actually didn't even think that Gaia was like his grandmother...it's strange hearing everyone comment about it because Hera is Zeus sister as well as his wife while Demeter is Hades sister/formor lover, which makes Persephone his niece, yet people are freakin out over Gaia touching Zeus? Come on. Think about it guys. :3 There's incest all over Greek Mythology so this is completely normal.
I do feel very sorry for Zeus and I understand why hes messed up when he's older but I don't think it gives him the right to do what he did to Hades, though Hades seems to think so so....who knows?
Either way. I can't wait to read more of this. :3 This is my favorite comic.

Reply Oscuro Eclipse (Guest), July 3rd, 2012, 5:28 am

Umm... I don't think Zeus is a little boy. I think the gods aged differently from humans... He might be like, hundreds years old for all who knows...

Reply Cruz_n_Angel, July 3rd, 2012, 7:25 pm

So.... in a way it's Metis fault Zeus grows up to be a womanizing narcissist?

WAT

Reply Nana (Guest), July 5th, 2012, 6:40 pm

This has been weighing on my mind for a while now. Especially considering I keep reading comments on people referring to the actual myths but... didn't in the original myth Hades freaking kidnap Persephone against her will :I? That's the only one I ever read, anyway. Yeah. So I just kind of shove the myth to the side mostly and take it as a fun original spin :).

But yeah... um. This is probably why he's super messed up man. And cursed, poor baby... it doesn't excuse his douche bagginess, but...

Reply Dew (Guest), July 8th, 2012, 5:37 pm

"it's Metis fault Zeus grows up to be a womanizing narcissist?"

Weeeell, technicaly, it's Gaia's fault. Metis didn't rape nor curse him, Gaia did.
Mother Earth with a stone heart, that's her...

Reply Guest, July 10th, 2012, 2:46 pm

So I'm thinking
"Never knowing love" includes all forms of it, right?
Not only does this explain his tendency to... womanise, it also explains why he doesn't really seem to care for his children unless he wants to order them to do something.

Reply raishe, July 11th, 2012, 10:44 pm

You know... Looking back on this page, it kind of looks like Gaia is crying in the corner panel. Don't know why, but she just seemed sad (While still being very cruel at the same time, of course).

Reply Kisarafox, September 15th, 2012, 3:05 pm

Zeus you just experienced being spirit raped by the personification of Earth...how about that.

Reply Guest, December 20th, 2012, 6:26 am

I dont think she cursed him. She only says a ugly truth. (sorry for my english)
